WDI Factory

A factory designed for an upmarket joinery company, on a triangular site, in a new industrial area.

The building plan is L-shaped and set against the back two (short) property boundaries for maximum spatial efficiency. The circulation and yard space is at the front of the site, bordering the long street edge, generous and accessible. Offices and amenity spaces are located on a first floor ‘bridge’ structure which simultaneously provides sheltered parking spaces, loading bays and staff areas below. The main factory spaces are double volume, flexible, generous and airy work areas. Planning allows the building to be sub-divisible into two separate units.
